Sconces
Sconces come in many styles and finishes to complement any décor. They provide a way to enjoy candlelight, while the light illuminates your walls. Whether the candles are lit or not, sconces add instant distinction to a room.
Modern sconces
For true contemporary flair, sconces in modern styles have clean lines and bold designs. Modern sconces are often crafted from black wrought iron, or other metals in silver or gold finishes. Swirled silver, mirrored backings and polished finishes glow with exceptional style in candlelight.
Classic sconces
Classically-styled sconces are crafted from wrought iron, pewter, and other metals. They come in antiqued and polished finishes, some are accessorized with crystals or crackled surfaces. Classic sconces are elegant, yet versatile in styling.
Old World sconces
Bronze finished wrought iron and carved wood are among the gorgeous possibilities, modeled after an age of exploration and grand style. A sconce of bold gothic design, or one with French flair, can become a signature piece in your home.
Antique sconces
Antique sconces adorn walls with truly timeless beauty. With delicate detailing and brushed surfaces, they reflect time-honored elegance. Admire traditional grace and sophistication in porcelain accents and antiqued bronze or gold finishes.
Other considerations
If you prefer the look of tapered candles, be sure to choose sconces that accommodate tapers. Some sconces hold thicker pillars or wax ball candles. Other sconces are designed for use with candle holders, usually made of glass and meant for holding votive candles, or tea light candles. Also, while some sconces hold a single candle, others can hold as many as ten candles. It’s a good idea to use a candle snuffer, rather than blowing on the flame, to extinguish a candle; this way, you won’t get wax droplets on your walls and furnishings and the candle wick stays safely centered.
